Update of automatic tweet plugin for Expression Engine

A while back I wrote about my plugin to automatically tweet about new blog posts in Expression Engine. Well, recently those of you who follow @f055 on Twitter might have observed that the announcement of my last blog post about Google Buzz was tweeted every couple of hours. That’s because there was a bug in my plugin.

What’s wrong with Buzz?

It all started with Twitter. And a bit of a Facebook. Got spiced up by LinkedIn and Yahoo Meme. We had Blellow on the way, Friendfeed, even the recent hype – Foursquare – can count in. Instant micro-exhibitionism, so you can generate all the buzz you need. But wait. Now you have the actual Buzz, for all your social pleasures. Enjoy?

Google phasing out support for Internet Explorer 6.0 and what does it mean?

As a Google Apps admin I have received an email today about Google planning to stop supporting IE6 in Docs and Sites, starting March this year. They plan to eventually stop supporting that old browser on all of their services including GMail. The transition begins this week, as they will be displaying upgrade requests on said services to the users who still browse with Internet Explorer 6. What does it mean for Microsoft, Google and the Web?

Enabling Speed Tracer on Chrome for Mac

Google released Chrome for Mac, finally, but the extensions don’t work. It’s actually Google’s fault, because the latest Chromium built already supports extensions. And then they release this great-looking Speed Tracer tool, something Yslow and others have not gone before. However, it seems you can’t install it on Mac (although in the example screenshots on Google Code you can actually see Chrome for Mac, oh irony). Well, guess what – you can :)

The Apple Tablet fits in the future

The rumored Apple Table (iTablet, MacTablet or even TabletMac) is on the horizon with more and more stories revolving around a cheap, portable touchscreen. And since the CrunchPad is dead, and the competition take on the market is pretty bad, the upcoming Apple product seems reasonable. Don’t be amazed by the millions of $$$ of startup funding

I hear more and more news about millions of $$$ and €€€ being pumped into startups I have never heard of. Each time I read such a piece I think “Oh boy, I could do so much with that money!”. But then the smart side of me kicks in and I realize I could barely live a year or two on that. Why? Because when you really think about it, the cost of running a startup with no profits is huge. Let’s count it.
